Evolving

Okay so it is time to start moving on and start create something a little bit more interactive. I decided to work with my wall of light. A couple of reasons for that. First I think it has a really nice potential in being a product in the end. It can be scaled upwards and it is module. Just add more up to 200 units can be connected together which I think will be enough… So I decided to think about what the wall is built up upon. It is light we are talking about which is in its purest form is the sun. SO how can the suns behavior be transfered to my wall of lights? Well the sun is pumping out what we call sun winds all the time. 1million ton each second in particles if I remeber right. This causes the northern light effect on earth when it collides with earths magnetic field but if the eruptions is great then it will put the earth into paralyzed state killing all the electricity. This is a very rare thing but smaller eruptions happens all the time and NASA is monitoring it and each minutes update a website with the latest readings. So hacking into that and let those values drive the movement of the light is my first idea.

The second one is more about what here on earth creates light and in nearly every case it is electricity. So looking around what my options was there I quickly realized that there is no product that creates a wireless connection with any number of devices and monitors their use of electricity and then presents the information in a appealing way. There are things like Wattson which is a product by DIYKOYTO. This is monitoring only the total consumption and not the individual and they are showing it of much more in the economic way with pounds trickling by. Well will see what Simon says and maybe I will come up with some more ideas during the weekend.
